Viking Sea Rover will be attending Tall Ships Nova Scotia Festival 2007

The Viking Knarr: SEA ROVER
is a historical replica of a Viking Knarr; an ocean going freighter. The
thousand year old design was established from the remains of Viking ships excavated
in Roskilde, Denmark. Built in Glovertown’s Shipyard, Newfoundland in 1995, the
Knarr operated for fourteen years as a tour boat out of L’Anse aux Meadows,
Newfoundland, providing visitors to the UNIESCO world heritage Viking
settlement there, with an opportunity to glimpse into how the Norse people
crossed the North Atlantic 500 years before Columbus. The Knarr has appeared in
numerous documentaries. Most recently it was featured in the BBC documentary
“Blood of the Vikings”. Based out of Jeddore Harbour, the Knarr: SEA ROVER currently
operates as a charter/tour boat along Nova Scotia’s beautiful Eastern Shore.
